The Old  Loom Shop adventure began in 2013 when I moved into my studio in the West Yard at Cromford Mill as the spare room in my home was getting a little cramped!
I enjoyed family folk festivals and felt there was a market for waistcoats. So bespoke sustainable waistcoats made from remnant and recycled fabrics with textile artwork was the start of festival life! A passion for Shabori dying natural fabrics and feltwork all crept in once I gave up my day job and released more time to make dresses, tops and felted clothing and accessories.
The atmosphere at festivals and craft fairs is so supportive and friendly. I have made great friendships within the family and festival goers are also amazing!
In 2017 I was joined by my glamorous assistant Penelope (Loppy). Her continuing support is overwhelming!?

Obviously festival and craft fair life would be extremely difficult if there wasn’t the continuous support from my other half who holds the fort while I’m doing my thing! Also thanks to Sarah who owns Weaveknitit, at Cromford Mill. She makes me laugh, sells my stuff and supplies me with wool! As well as all the staff at Cromford Mill for their support, enthusiasm, fun and friendship.

…and last but not least all my friends and customers over the years because without you I would not exist!
